Time For More Stories!

I added a link to my other site where I keep my stories. It is on the right hand side and is called "My Stories". I did it this way so the links don't get buried in old posts.

The newest post is "Masonry - Brought to Light" This was the second paper I had to write for English. The paper had to be on a Concept. The concept could be anything; we only had to be able to explain that concept. I picked Masonry because it is something that a lot of people have heard of, but don't have a clear idea of what it is. Most of what I know about Masonry I learned by word of mouth. That made it very easy to write this paper.

I earned an A on this paper, as well as the first one I did. If you have any questions, leave me a post and I would be happy to get back to you!

You stay classy New England...

So here they are. I am still trying to get used to them. I have worn glasses in the past, but this is my first time wearing bifocals. BTW, I just took this picture at 23:00 and am really tired, so I look about as good as I feel. This is just a quick post to get the pic up there. I am fighting off a headache as well. I'll get the hang of these eventually...

Today I went to visit my Papa in the hospital today. He is there because he had a stroke a week ago. He seems to be doing well and is getting back to his old self. Let me tell you a little about Papa. He is the fucking Don "Magic" Juan of the Senior Community in this town. The nurses on his floor come in and hug him and kiss him and he sweet-talks the pants off of them. I need to learn from his greatness and hope that the pimp cane will be passed down to me when he retires from the game.

Anyway, Bedtime for me. I am a late poster. I need to leave myself more time to write before I fall asleep.

Feeling Old

I am getting to the point in life where I am starting to feel my age. I have always had a "baby face", so in the past, I had been mistaken for being much younger than I really am. That doesn't happen so much anymore. Now when I am out having a drink, 9 out of 10 times I don't get carded. The other day, Jie Jie guessed my age at around 34. Yikes!

Thursday morning was my eye doctor appointment. My eyes have really been bothering me so I have been looking forward to going and getting some answers. I have glasses now that I rarely wear, so I guessed that maybe I would get a slightly stronger perscription and be told to wear them more often. Nope. Of course not. I am 30 now and years of staring at computers and repairing intricate things have taken their toll.

The doctor offered me two choices. The first one was that I would have to be dilligent about getting up from what I am doing every half hour and go stare at something far away for ten minutes to relieve my eyes. Right... That is as likely to happen as me voting for Hillary Clinton in the next presidential election. (BTW, THAT WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER HAPPEN! /Shudder)

Choice Two.......... Bifocals. Yup. You know I am gettin em. That is the plan for tomorrow morning. I am going to Lenscrafters tomorrow and picking out my new glasses. I hope they have a nice selection in fat head sizes. I am thinking something in a Drew Carey style. The thick black frames will do nicely I think. I will post some pictures toomorrow night to amaze all of you who read this.

I know I promised another paper in my last post, and I intend on keeping that promise. I just cant do it tonight. It is 23:00 right now and I am starting to feel sleepy. I fell asleep for awhile tonight with baby boy and that gave me a little boost, but not enough to do that post justice.

I am off to read Annie Dillard and get some rest. Godspeed.

ENG120 is done, so now I have no class

OK, so I ripped off Rodney Dangerfield for this posts title. Let's call it paying tribute.

It is true. Tonight was my last class of College Composition. This was my first school class in thirteen years. To be honest, it felt great to be back in school. The professor is an excellent teacher and made class a lot of fun. He has inspired me to continue writing, and maybe publish something someday. I still need to figure out what it is that I want to write, but this blog is where I am starting.

I am going to keep it short, because I am very tired. I need to get to sleep to prepare for the snow deluge that we are supposedly getting tonight. Sweet Dreams everyone...
